1. Who we are
Tidyroll is published by ACCENTURE SOFTWARE COMPANY LIMITED ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Tidyroll apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. Questions go to joe@gettidyroll.app.
2. Your photos and videos stay on your device
Everything Tidyroll does with your library happens on your device: finding similar photos, picking the best shot, sorting screenshots, spotting accidental videos and compressing videos. Your photos and videos are never uploaded, and we never see them.
- iPhone and iPad: analysis uses Apple's on-device frameworks (PhotoKit, Vision and AVFoundation).
- Android: analysis uses Google ML Kit's bundled text recognition and face detection, and MediaPipe. Both run on the device. MediaPipe sends nothing off the device. ML Kit's diagnostics are covered in section 4.
When you compress a video, Tidyroll saves the smaller copy back to your library and moves the original to Recently Deleted on iPhone and iPad (kept for 30 days) or to Trash on Android.
3. Permissions
iPhone and iPad
Photo Library, full access: used to scan your whole library for large videos, similar photos and old screenshots, and to save compressed copies. You can limit access to selected photos in Settings; Tidyroll then only sees those.
Android
READ_MEDIA_IMAGESandREAD_MEDIA_VIDEO: to scan your gallery.POST_NOTIFICATIONS: for weekend reminders, if you turn them on.- Foreground services: so long tasks, such as compressing videos, keep running with a visible notification.
4. Data collected
iPhone and iPad
None. The App Store privacy label for Tidyroll is "Data Not Collected".
Android
Tidyroll uses Google ML Kit, which runs on your device. ML Kit sends Google diagnostic information so Google can keep the library working:
- device information: manufacturer, model, OS version and ML hardware
- the app's package name and version
- a per-installation identifier
- performance metrics such as latency, API configuration, event types and error codes
This information is sent over HTTPS, and Google doesn't pass it to third parties. It never includes your photos or what's in them. See Google's ML Kit data disclosure.
Our Google Play Data safety section lists exactly two data types, both from ML Kit: Device or other IDs, and App info and performance: Diagnostics. Both are collected, not shared, required for the app to work, used for analytics, and encrypted in transit.
5. What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No backend server: we don't run servers that receive data from the app.
- No ads, and no analytics or tracking SDKs.
- We don't sell or share personal information.
6. Purchases
Tidyroll Pro is sold through Apple (StoreKit) and Google Play Billing. Apple or Google processes your payment, and we never see your payment details. Your Pro status belongs to your Apple ID or Google account, which is how you restore it on a new device. See Apple's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy.
7. Reminders
Weekend reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. There's no push server.
8. Data on your device
Tidyroll keeps its scan index and settings in the app's own storage on your device. Deleting the app deletes them. Because nothing is stored on a server, there's nothing for us to delete on request.
9. When you email us
If you email joe@gettidyroll.app, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to reply to you, and we don't add you to any mailing list.
10. Children
Tidyroll isn't directed at children. On Google Play, its target audience is 18 and over.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA give you rights to access, correct or delete personal information. We hold none from the app itself. If you've emailed us, ask and we'll show you or delete those messages. For ML Kit diagnostics on Android, Google's privacy policy applies.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how Tidyroll handles data, we'll update this page and the effective date above before the change ships, and mention it in the app's release notes. If a change means collecting new data, we'll also update the App Store privacy label and the Google Play Data safety section to match.
